Helen Mao graduated from Tsinghua University ( Beijing , China ) with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and received a Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Toronto . Helen holds a J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law, where she was on the Dean's List and received High Tech Excellence Award. Her practice focuses on patent preparation and prosecution, patent strategy and portfolio development and IP/patent due diligent. She also provides counseling on trademark, trade secrets and copyright protection, patent invalidity and non-infringement opinions. Helen is consistently valued by her creative and business-minded approach offering insightful advices from both IP and technological aspects. Prior to joining the firm, Helen has 20 years of work experience as a software engineer and a tech lead in a variety of fields for industry leaders like Cisco, Motorola, Ciena and Nortel. Helen has also worked in global major law firms.
Helen is a member of the California bar and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
