T. Lester Wallace received a B.S. in electrical engineering from Stanford University in 1986 (A.B. History 1986 as well) and a J.D. from George Washington University in 1991. While at Stanford, Lester worked at Synertek in San Jose and designed several standard cell CMOS integrated circuit chips. Lester also did full custom CMOS design work. After graduation from Stanford, Lester worked as an electrical engineer for Sperry Aerospace. Lester designed a fly-by-wire microprocessor-based flight control computer. Subsequently, during law school, Lester worked as a patent law clerk at Cushman, Darby & Cushman in Washington, D.C. After graduation from law school, Lester joined Skjerven Morrill MacPherson Franklin and Friel, LLP in San Jose as a patent attorney. At Skjerven Morrill, Lester wrote approximately 200 patents, and participated in numerous patent litigations and ITC cases. Notable cases include SGS Thomson v. UMC, Actel v. QuickLogic and SEL v. Samsung. In these cases, Lester performed the important technical aspects of the patent litigation including: identifying the issues and supporting facts that would ultimately result in invalidating the asserted patents or obtaining a non-infringement decision. Lester directed the reverse engineering of infringing devices, drafted claims that read on the plaintiff's devices, obtained issuance of patents with those claims, and then asserted the patents back against the original plaintiff. Lester has extensive experience preparing technical depositions in patent cases, and drafting dispositive motions on the merits such as summary judgment motions that were ultimately decided in the client's favor. Lester has drafted approximately 60 opinions on validity and non-infringement matters over the years. Lester entered private practice in 1998.

Lester is a member of the California Bar and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
